PICSI

PICSI is a sperm selection method in which mature sperm bind to hyaluronic acid present in the shell of eggs. Only the sperm that bind to the hyaluronic acid are used for injection into the egg. Studies have shown that PICSI increases the safety of using a sperm with intact genetic material by approximately fourfold (Parmegiani et al. 2010). PICSI treatment is recommended for low fertilization rates with previous ICSI treatments, failure to implant, delay in embryo development and recurrent miscarriages.
