Freezing eggs in a timely manner can improve your chances of future pregnancy!
Every female newborn has millions of eggs in her ovaries at the time of birth. But as life progresses, their number steadily decreases. While there are still hundreds of thousands of eggs present at birth, their number drops to around 20,000 when sexual maturity begins. Even during the fertile years, many eggs are lost every month due to natural aging processes. In addition, the quality of the remaining eggs deteriorates over time due to natural cell aging.
From the age of 40 onwards, the wish for a spontaneous pregnancy is only fulfilled by one in ten women. After the age of 45, pregnancy and the birth of a child become rare. Many women are aware of the limitations of their fertile phase. However, many are unable to realize their desire to have children at the biologically optimal time – be it for professional or health reasons or because the right partner is still missing.
Thanks to modern freezing techniques known as “vitrification”, it is now possible to make better use of female fertility reserves and to cryopreserve (freeze) unfertilized eggs for a future desired pregnancy. However, it is important to carry out egg cryopreservation as early as possible, ideally between the ages of your late 20s and mid 30s. This is based on current medical evidence. The costs for cryopreservation of eggs for fertility prevention are usually not covered by health insurance.
